Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel was born and raised in New York where he started out as a backgammon player. He spent eight years on the backgammon tournament circuit before moving on to the stock market. For years, Erik Seidel erik-seideltraded on Wall Street and played poker on the side. Now he lives in Las Vegas and it’s the other way around.

The first time Erik Seidel played in the World Series of Poker Championship Event, he finished second. He made it back to the final table of the Championship Event in 1999 where he finished fourth. Erik won his first bracelet in 1994 in the $5K Limit Hold ‘em event. In 2005, he made four final tables at the WSOP and he won his seventh bracelet in the $2,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em tournament.

Erik Seidel has had great success playing in Las Vegas — most of his top finishes have been at Bellagio or the WSOP — and he’s currently the only player on the Top 10 All-Time money lists for those two venues.
